Sovereign Green Bond Pioneer

New Zealand issued its first sovereign green bond in November 2022 to help finance government projects with robust environmental outcomes. Proceeds are earmarked for Low-Carbon Transport, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Low-Carbon Buildings, Living and Natural Resources and Land Use, Terrestrial and Aquatic Biodiversity, Adaptation, Sustainable Water and Wastewater Management, and Pollution Prevention and Control.
