The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a public benefit corporation and is North America's largest transportation network, serving a population of 15.3 million people across a 5,000-square-mile travel area surrounding New York City, Long Island, southeastern New York State, and Connecticut. The MTA network is comprised of subway, buses, and commuter rail serving the region. The MTA certified two of its approved Capital Programs with the CBI Programmatic Certification under the Land Low Carbon) Transport Criteria for bonds issued by MTA and its affiliate MTA Bridges and Tunnels, as part of its pooled resources for approved transit and commuter capital projects.
